About The Role

One of our core values is to reach out in compassionate mission to our local community. In the past year we have recognised the need for a more focused approach to local outreach releasing the gifts and evangelistic potential of our church family and using our resources more effectively including the Open Door Centre. The main purpose of this new role is to make Jesus known through strategic community engagement, working with the church to pioneer new initiatives.

The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults through the use of the Safer Recruitment practice guidance. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.

Research the local community to discover what it’s needs are, and identifying two or three specific gaps that can be met by the church. To produce an initial report with strategic plans
within 3 months.
To begin to organise & lead initiatives that reach out directly to the community with the good news of Jesus.
Forming & mobilising a core outreach team, equipping and leading volunteers, and facilitating the gifts/talents of CCB family to active outreach, both compassionate and evangelistic.
Creating pathways from community events, into the life of the church.
Partnering with the Open Door Team to creatively find ways for the centre to be used more proactively for outreach activities.
To work alongside the leadership and staff to increase the breadth of outreach potential as a church.

The post holder should have a personal Spirit-led Christian faith consistent with the Vision and Values of CCB.
To be (or become) a committed member of CCB, regular in Sunday Worship.
A heart to see people encounter the love of Jesus for themselves.
Excellent communication skills to church, outside agencies and organisations connected with the local community.
Highly organised and able to prioritise work load as much of the time will be spent independent of supervision.
A team player and evidence of leading volunteers.
Servant hearted and resilient self starter.
Exercise initiative and be self-motivated, can work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Relatable character able to adapt to various situations.
Good IT skills – proficient in Microsoft Office and social media.
Current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
