Hundreds of parishes across the Diocese respond to the issues of housing & homelessness, week in week out. Whether it’s day centres, static shelters, winter night shelters, hosting, befriending or mentoring projects, church communities play their part in London’s homelessness and housing issues.

We’re committed to supporting parishes as they serve this need, as well as looking at structural solutions to London’s housing crisis: seeking affordable, safe homes for all Londoners. If you’re considering starting something in your church, or if you’re already doing something that you’d like to share, please do get in touch.

Homelessness Reflection Day – Annual event

At the end of the winter night shelter season, London and Southwark diocese collaborate on a ‘homelessness reflection’ gathering – this is aimed at people in churches and Christian organisations who are working to support those who are homeless, including volunteers.

This year, our theme is ‘trauma-informed practice’. You can find more about our speakers for the half-day event on 30th April 2025, plus book your free place, here
