The Willesden Area is the north western part of the Diocese and covers the four boroughs of Brent, Hillingdon, Ealing, and Harrow. It is home to about 1.2 million people making it one of the largest London areas. We delight in our diversity across the area. Brent is one of the most culturally diverse boroughs in the UK and Harrow one of the most religiously diverse. The population of the area is growing, especially around Old Oak Common and Wembley Park where there are major new housing developments which we are seeking creative ways to serve.
Willesden Area has 91 benefices, 5 BMOs, 21 church schools, 10 hospitals, 2 universities, RAF Northolt and Heathrow airport which are served by active chaplaincy teams. As an Area, we embrace the diocesan vision, to see every Londoner able to encounter the love of God in Christ. To serve this vision, we have committed ourselves to be churches that reflect the three Willesden values of being inter-cultural, inter-generation and missional. We also hold to the aspiration of building church communities that will mirror the rich diversity of our city, welcoming all people.
