About The Role
Reports to: Chris Brees | Curate-in-Charge
Location: Christ Church West Green, Waldeck Road
Salary: £30-35,000 pro rata 2-3 days a week, 14-21 hrs (inc. 0.5 day on Sunday)
Contract: Initial 1 year contract with 3-month probation period
Days: 2-3 days would include Sunday morning. This role would require a degree of flexibility around church events outside usual office hours including Christmas and Easter.
Role Context:
At Christ Church West Green we’re a year into a new chapter in the life of the church through a partnership between the existing congregation at Christ Church and St Saviour’s Church Finsbury Park. The vision is for us to partner with God to see the renewal of West Green through persistent prayer, selfless service, and deep-rooted faith. The first 12 months have been marked by growth, a new community forming, and deep theological and spiritual roots being sown. We now discern we’re entering a new season of growth and depth as a church.
At this new juncture in the life of the church, leadership for the kids and families ministries of the church is needed to support the growth we are praying for, and to bring new creative ideas and life to the church.
We’re excited to find someone who carries faith, vision and a passion for seeing the family life of the church thrive through problem-solving, creative-thinking and proactive working.
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the Kids and Families Lead is to passionately serve our kids and families by creating a culture that is fun, friendly and faith-filled, and to generate excitement, vision and buy-in from our amazing volunteer base.
Safeguarding:
The role requires applicants to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults of all cultural backgrounds and have a good awareness of relevant policies and procedures, statutory legislation and guidance. Due to the nature of the role, it is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
Occupational Requirement:
This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.

Lead and oversee all areas of the kids and families ministries at Christ Church in line with the vision to create a fun, friendly and faith-filled culture – including Sunday Kids Church, our midweek toddler group and a future youth group.
Offer pastoral support to families and children through seasons of
Hold, develop and implement vision for our kids and families on Sundays, midweek, and one-off events (e.g. Christmas, Easter).
Build and empower the volunteer kids and families team to lead with vision and buy-in
Ensure safeguarding policies are being upheld across the kids and families team alongside the Parish Safeguarding Officer
Attend both regular and occasional staff meetings, retreats, conferences etc.

Computer literate. Comfortable with Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel, Email) and Google Workspace.
Desirable Skills:
Practical experience in working in a church
Ability to work flexibly responding to church calendar and events
Ability to use team management and communication software to improve team coordination
