Who We Are

The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) plays a vital role in supporting the Diocese of London, working to advance the mission of the Church of England across London. Our work spans parish support, community engagement, property management, and strategic development, all aimed at fostering a thriving Christian presence in every neighbourhood.

It is overseen by the Bishop of London and is made up of parishes, schools, chaplaincies, missional communities, and other organisations across 18 Boroughs in London, north of the River Thames

The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) is the main charity that supports the work of the Diocese as a whole by generating income, providing a wide range of services and paying and housing its clergy.

Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community.

We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME), women, and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.

Our commitment to Safeguarding

The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Safeguarding is of the utmost importance at LDF. Because some of our roles involve working with vulnerable people, we take extra steps during recruitment to ensure everyone’s safety. If you’re applying for a role that involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults, you will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Faith-Based Roles

As a Christian organisation, some roles within LDF require candidates to be practising Christians. These positions are identified as having a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) under the Equality Act 2010, meaning that being a practising Christian is essential to fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. This requirement is in place to uphold the Christian ethos and mission of the Diocese of London. If a role has this requirement, it will be clearly stated in the job description.
