About The Role
This role is for an experienced pioneer used to noticing what God is doing in the wider community beyond the walls of existing church, joining in with the promptings of the Spirit, and helping new life take root. It is about hope – quiet, persistent, and transformative.
You will be based in newly built Methodist premises, ‘The Space’. It is in a mixed development of housing, GP surgeries and shops, adjacent to an existing social housing estate and close to Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and Vauxhall transport hub.
You will be working alongside a Presbyter who is stationed to the Lambeth Circuit, with Pastoral oversight of ‘The Space’ and two other churches in the circuit. Working out of this new build in Graphite Square, once released by the developers, office space will be available in Lambeth Walk Methodist Church as and when required.
This is not a role for maintaining the status quo. It is an invitation to listen deeply, build relationships, and cultivate a new Christian community amongst those who have not engaged with church previously.
The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults through the use of the Safer Recruitment practice guidance. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.

Equal Opportunities
The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME) and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.
