About The Role
We are looking for someone who is passionate about seeing kids grow in faith and develop a relationship with Jesus. This is a new role for the church and will include community outreach, school collective worship and growing a volunteer team.
Key Responsibilities
To develop and led Kids ministry across two services on a Sunday morning
To grow a kids team of volunteers
To led collective worship in the parish primary school
To support our vicar in delivering prayer spaces in the school
To plan and led ad-hoc community events and key services
This is a part-time role, for 2.5 days a week. The work pattern would include: Thursday afternoons and some Tuesday mornings, and Sunday mornings. Employment is subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance.
The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults through the use of the Safer Recruitment practice guidance. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.
To lead and develop St Mary Mags Kids work during the Sunday services
Ensuring that they help all the children to grow in their relationship with Jesus in an age appropriate way
To provide strategic vision for the development of Kids’ ministry
To set up & pack down the children’s groups each week
To developing the volunteer team
To help maintain and develop relationships with the children and families who attend on Sunday mornings
To help plan guest services including the Family Carol Service, Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day etc
Outreach and School
Leading weekly collective worship for the whole school
Helping to build good relationships with our school families and teachers
Liaising with the school, planning and producing prayer space activities each term with Kirstine our vicar
Attending relevant school events to foster relationships between the church and the school
A personal Christian faith
Previous experience working with children
Passion for Kids’ Ministry
Strong communication skills
High level of confidentiality
Good interpersonal skills
Strong admin skills
Excellent understanding of Safeguarding
