About The Role

To provide administrative support to the Church Manager, vicar, staff team and volunteer leaders, facilitating All Souls church to fulfil its mission to know Christ and make Him known in the parish and wider community.

To act as the weekday receptionist and friendly face of All Souls – answer door, take and
direct telephone calls, assist and escort visitors on site as required and relay messages as
appropriate.
• Administration relating to formal events including Banns, Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals.
• Oversee offices / kitchen / halls / storage to ensure they are tidy and well-maintained, and
that the appropriate supplies are always available for both mid-week hall users and Sunday
services. Liaise with cleaner to ensure that all areas are cleaned at appropriate intervals.
• Maintain electronic and (where appropriate) paper filing systems.
• Support with the production and oversight of volunteer rotas
• To help maintain and update formal Church of England records as required, and to liaise with
the diocese when necessary.
• Support the Safeguarding Officer and Church Manager with the DBS process for church
volunteers, including verifying applicants’ ID evidence.
• Input data and utilise the church database and communication software (ChurchSuite) and
to send out communications, and network with church members as required.
• General administrative duties such as word-processing, printing, copying and scanning
documents
• Attendance at the regular staff prayer meeting.
• To undertake other duties commensurate with the post as reasonably requested.

Someone who is sympathetic to the Christian faith, fully supportive of the mission and values
of All Souls and committed to working within the structures and values of the Church of
England.
• Preferably have experience of administrative work in a similar role
• Ability to effectively network within the church community.
• Good IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications as required.
• Excellent organisational skills, with an attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to prioritise workload, demonstrating a flexible attitude to task completion.
• Ability to work using their own initiative, whilst seeking support from the Church Manager
as appropriate.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Impeccable integrity and ability to handle confidential matters sensitively
• Ability to work well as part of a small team, but also able to work independently as required
