About The Role

To imagine, pioneer, and grow a new Christian community embedded in the Bloomsbury neighbourhood of London through young adult ministry and through student ministry at University College London (UCL), University of London: Bloomsbury Colleges, and other proximal London Higher Education (HE) and Further Education (FE) institutions; across community organisations, businesses and employers, particularly those working at the intersection of education and vocation; and alongside any interested young adults working at Methodist Church House.

To discover, lead, and enable a community culture of inclusive evangelism that shares the Gospel in restorative and innovative ways – so that people can encounter God, begin discipleship journeys with Jesus, and become, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, participants in a new Christian community and baptised members of the Body of Christ through the Methodist Church.

To build, organise, and nurture a pioneering team of people who will launch, lead, shape, and sustain the new church/Christian community.

To work collaboratively with the Methodist Church’s Evangelism & Growth Team to advance the Methodist Church’s strategy of launching a network of growing, inclusive, evangelistic, and justice-seeking young adult/student churches and new Christian communities in HE & FE contexts across Britain.

The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults through the use of the Safer Recruitment practice guidance. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.
