About The Role
St Gabriel’s Pimlico is embarking on Restoring Our Future, a major multi million pound heritage project that will secure, conserve, and revitalise our Grade II* listed church for future generations. Serving one of Westminster’s most diverse neighbourhoods and welcoming more than 18,000 visitors each year, the project will deliver urgent repairs, create an accessible Eco Garden, and significantly expand heritage engagement through new community driven activities, storytelling, and participatory programmes.
Following a successful Expression of Interest, the National Lottery Heritage Fund has invited us to submit a full Stage One application, marking the beginning of an exciting multi year journey through the Development Phase (2027-2028) and Delivery Phase (2029-2030). To support this work, we are establishing a specialist Project Board to provide expert oversight, strong governance, and alignment with NLHF expectations.
Each role as set out below requires around 4-6 hours per month and offers the opportunity to shape a nationally significant heritage project delivering strong social, cultural, and environmental outcomes.
We are seeking voluntary Board Members with professional expertise in:
• Quantity Surveying (Cost & Procurement)
• Property / Heritage Law
• Finance (Accountancy)
• Architecture (Heritage Projects)
• Interpretation & Signage / Wayfinding
• Activity Planning & Community Engagement
Equal Opportunities
The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME) and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.
