This talk will look at the common forms of ecclesiastical property including the church, parsonage, churchyard and parish property such as a church hall; who owns the property and what restrictions are in place; the hiring of churches and church halls for non-worship purposes; inviting other denominations to conduct their church services in a church building; Canonical obligations relevant to holding plays and other exhibitions in a church; and Charities Act obligations as trustees dealing with charitable property.
It is led by our Diocesan Registrar, Stuart Jones, Kevin Wilson (Deputy Registrar), and the Vicar of St Peter Grange Park, the Priest in Charge at Grosvenor Chapel Mayfair, the Revd Stephen Coleman (who is also the deputy course director of the LLM in Canon Law at Cardiff University).
