- Fill in your Energy Footprint Tool annually – as a minium, this needs to be submitted within the year you apply for a Church of England NZC grants
- Join the Eco Church scheme – this is now a condition of funding for Church of England NZC grants.
- Commission an energy and net zero carbon audit for your church. This will identify the range of actions you can take to reduce your energy use and carbon footprint, giving you heating options with outline running and installation costs. Get in touch with us for companies who can do this.
- Switch to a renewable electricity provider.
- Get started on the small-medium recommendations within your audit and review Church of England guidance
- Consider a Heating Options Appraisal. This is recommended to explore preferred heating option(s) in more detail. Speak with your QI (quinquennial inspector) to approach consultants who they have worked with, to carry out this work: Heating options appraisal PDF.
- If you need to install a new heating system, please read the ‘gas boiler guidance’. This guidance has been produced by the London Diocesan Advisory Committee, in collaboration with the Chancellor.
- Explore funding available
- Sign up to the creation care and net zero carbon quarterly newsletter
