Rev’d. Jonathan Aptin Samadi tells us about the recent New Year celebrations of the Persian Anglican Community (a BMO across the diocese).

The Persian Anglican Community of London celebrated the Persian New Year, Norouz, in the parish of St Mary & St Peter, Staines, on March 19th, hosting more than a hundred guests including Persians and Afghans from across the diocese and some local parishioners. It was a wonderful opportunity for a cultural introduction and celebration of diversity among us. The evening started with offering a wide variety of Perian meals and continued with live Persian music, cultural presentation, quiz and dance.

The Persian Anglican Community of London (PACL) was planted by Rev. Jonathan Aptin Samadi in 2019 with a vision of offering support for all Farsi speakers in the London diocese by gathering them for monthly worship services in their own native language and helping them to integrate into their communities and parishes. The PACL also offers support and advice to the parishes with a vision to serve their local Persians effectively and offers discipleship courses and training for potential leaders.

Please do not hesitate to contact PACL if they can offer you any support with your ministry to Persians:Vicar@stmaryandstpeterstaines.co.uk
