The youth team at Hope Church Hounslow has organised a swap shop to tackle fast fashion and reduce clothes waste in their local area.
They started developing the idea in 2019 after hearing how churches can care for the environment at a Tearfund event. Following this, they submitted their idea to The Spark Fund, a fund created by the Diocesan Children and Youth team that helps 11-25 year olds in the diocese run a missional project.
After successfully pitching their project and receiving the fund, the team at Hope Church used the money to set up a Swap Shop in their youth room.
