Clergy and Staff moves January 2020

Into the Diocese

The Revd Preb Paula Hollingsworth, Vicar, Westbury Sub Mendip, St Lawrence with Eastern and Sub-Dean and Preb of Wells Cathedral and Dean of Women’s Ministry, Diocese of Bath and Wells is to be Priest Vicar and Chaplain at St Paul’s Cathedral (0190), from 2 February 2020.

The Revd Katy Hacker Hughes, former Vicar of St Paul, Lorrimore Square, Newington, Diocese of Southwark, is now Priest Pastor (Assistant Curate) at St Marylebone, St Marylebone (0401), from 1 September 2020.

The Revd Dana English, Curate, All Saints, Rome, Gibraltar, Europe is to be SSM Curate, St George, Campden Hill (1114), from: 17 December 2019.

The Revd Dr Sarah Archer (4600) Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Europe, Exeter and Bath and Wells, now holds Permission to Officiate, from 1 December 2019.

Within the Diocese

The Revd Canon Tricia Hillas, Canon Pastor at St. Paul’s Cathedral (0190), is to be House for Duty Priest in Charge of St Mary at Hill, Eastcheap (0116) combined with Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons, from 18 February 2020.

The Revd Gareth Wardell, All Saints, Hampton (0902), is to be Priest in Charge of St Clement with St Mark and Norlands St James (1105), from 24 March 2020.

Out of the Diocese

The Revd Adrian Beavis, Vicar of St Luke, Earls Court (1207), is to be Vicar of Christ Church, Woking, Diocese of Guildford, from 10 March 2020.

To Retire

The Revd Roger Curl, Vicar of St Mary, West Kensington (0808), is to retire 5 March 2020.

The Revd Gareth Huw Chiplin, Vicar of St Matthew, Sinclair Road (0818), is to retire on 10 February 2020.

The Revd Stephan Welch, Archdeacon of Middlesex (4400), retired on 31 December 2019.

Resigned

The Revd Stephen France, Rector of Christ Church, Brondesbury (2115), is to resign with effect from 31 December 2019.

Deceased

The Revd Preb (Emeritus) John David Marshall Paton, died peacefully in France on 14 December. He was Incumbent at St George in the East, 1986-1992; Director Post-Ordination Training, 1992-1999; Tower Hamlets Area Dean, 1992-1996; Incumbent at St Barnabas Bethnal Green, 1992-1996; Priest in charge, London City Churches and St Botolph without Bishopsgate, 1997-2006; Area Dean for The City 2000-2006; Prebendary St Paul’s Cathedral, 2004-2012; Master of the Royal Foundation of St Katharine, 2006-2012. A Requiem Mass is to be arranged at a later date.
