Capital Launch launched this summer with the announcement of Strategic Development funding from the Church Commissioners. Since then the next group of Youth Ministry Apprentices have begun their placements in parishes in the Stepney and Edmonton area, taking our total number to twelve. You can read more about their commissioning here. We also had the joy of welcoming over 150 young people to St Paul’s Cathedral to be commissioned as ambassadors and take part in the service, a real highlight being the servers for communion who were all young people who serve at St Peter and St Paul in Enfield Lock. You can see more images from the service here.

If you would like to be involved in Capital Youth you could:

  1. access a free consultation from James Fawcett, Youth Work Adviser, to develop or help start a vision for youth work in your parish;
  2. look at financial support – we’re putting more resource into the Bishop of London’s Mission Fund to fund youth work projects in parishes;
  3. learn more about our apprentice scheme, which is up and running. Contact Rachel Walker if you’re interested.
  4. pray for us – and for the young people who you hope to reach with the gospel; and,
  5. sign up to the youth ministry newsletter which will keep you up to date with developments, resources and innovations.
