Image of a Bible in the sunshine

This day is an invitation to rethink how we understand time, not as a commodity to be spent but as a gift to be shared. It is an opportunity to imagine a community where all are welcomed, not for what they do or achieve, but for who they are—beloved children of God, living together in the sacred rhythm of God’s time.

Clergy, lay ministers, Access and Disability Champions, and those who work to improve inclusion in London churches are invited to join us at this day with John Swinton.

Professor Swinton is a distinguished scholar and theologian, known for his pioneering work in practical theology, disability studies, and mental health. He serves as Chair in Divinity and Religious Studies at the University of Aberdeen, where he also founded the Centre for Spirituality, Health, and Disability. With a background in mental health nursing and healthcare chaplaincy, he bridges academic rigor with compassionate care. His influential writings, such as Dementia: Living in the Memories of God and Becoming Friends of Time, explore the intersections of faith, vulnerability, and human flourishing, earning widespread acclaim for their depth and accessibility.
