Risk-Taking and Resilience
Running the race with risk and resilience
22nd June 2027, Diocesan House, 10am-4pm
Being an effective parish priest requires resilience to maintain the day-to-day life of the church but also the capacity to pioneer new ways. We are offering this training to support clergy in their resilience as well as helping them to become bolder in the risks they take.
‘Risk-Taking and Resilience’ is an interactive, and hands-on session, delivered by Humantalk in partnership with clergy from the diocese. Offering research insights into risk and resilience, psychological science, and risk and resilience exercises, attendees will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of ‘risk’ and ‘resilience’, as well as their aptitude for making bolder moves in their ministry.
To bring this topic to life and help attendees ground it in practical actions, this session will be co-delivered by a consultant from Humantalk and one or two clergy from the diocese. This will offer attendees the chance to explore recent examples of risk-taking and the lessons they provide.
