This course offers a wide-ranging introduction to mission theology and practice in a rapidly changing global context. Students will engage key biblical, theological, historical, and practical questions, including how Scripture forms missionary imagination, how mission is grounded in the life and purposes of the Triune God, and how the New Testament and Christian history inform faithful participation in God’s work today. The course also explores how globalisation, migration, and the growth of Majority World Christianity have reshaped contemporary mission, challenging older assumptions about who sends, who receives, and where Christian vitality is found. Particular attention is given to the role of the local church in sending, supporting, and partnering well, and to the opportunities and complexities of mission in multicultural Britain.
Each week will consist of a two-hour interactive lecture. Student preparation will be expected based on the set reading for each week and any additional online activities.
As a non-accredited CPD module, there are no assessments.
Students are expected to attend all classes and interact on the online forums between lectures.

Key Dates
Lectures take place on Thursdays 10:15-12:00. Teaching begins on Thursday 4th Feb and continues until Thursday 20th May with breaks on 4th March, 1st April March, 8th April and 6th May.
