Black History Month Pilgrimage Walk 2026
Out of Many Cultures, One People
Every street holds a story. Join us to discover the histories that connect us.
On Friday 23 October, join the Diocese of London’s Racial Justice Priority Team for a guided pilgrimage through the vibrant streets of Tower Hamlets, led by the Rt Revd Dr Anderson Jeremiah.
Together, we will explore the rich histories of migration, community and resistance that have shaped this part of London, bringing this year’s theme, “Out of Many Cultures, One People,” to life.
Co-designed with historian Dr Robin Whitburn, the walk will uncover often overlooked historical stories, helping us deepen our understanding of racial injustice and recognise the courage, contributions and resilience of the people who have shaped our city.
Last year, participants valued the connections they made and shared how seeing the world through different perspectives deepened their understanding. Building on their feedback, this year’s shorter route has been designed to be more accessible, with opportunities to pause for prayer, reflection and conversation.
Whether you joined us last year or are attending for the first time, we would be delighted to welcome you for a meaningful day of discovery, connection and shared reflection.
