St Paul’s Cathedral is currently home to two large-scale video installations created by the internationally acclaimed artist Bill Viola. They are entitled Mary and Martyrs and together they symbolise some of the profound mysteries of human experience.
Join us for an evening to celebrate the life and legacy of this remarkable artist, who died in 2024. This event will feature short talks about Viola and his work, and an exclusive opportunity for one night only to view the artwork Inverted Birth underneath the Dome of St Paul’s Cathedral, in addition to Mary and Martyrs. This viewing will be accompanied by music from the St Paul’s Cathedral Consort.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about, and to reflect on, Viola’s work in the stunning surroundings of St Paul’s Cathedral.
