The Season of Creation 2026 – 1st September – 4th October
Creationtide or the ‘Season of Creation’ is the period in the annual church calendar, from 1st September to 4th October, dedicated to God as the Creator and Sustainer of all life. It is a time to celebrate the gift of creation and renew our commitment to care for God’s planet, through prayer, worship, and practical action.
This year’s theme is ‘Living Water’, based on the vision from Ezekiel 47:1-12. God’s life-giving water flows from the temple of God, restoring a desolate place, reviving waters, and bringing transformation.
How to Get Involved
Churches can get involved with the Season of Creation in many ways. For many this includes hosting special services focused on creation care. Churches might use special prayers, worship outside, host an event or take some form of practical action for the environment.
This year there are exciting new developments, including the ‘Hope for All Creation’ theological document recently adopted by the House of Bishops, and liturgical resources for the new ‘Feast of Creation in Christ’.

The Dioceses of London and Southwark are hosting a course exploring the positive responses and challenges we face when doing ministry in a time of climate breakdown. Caring For God’s Creation: Faithful Living in a Changing World will take place over zoom and consists of three sessions. More information can be found here.
