National Day of Prayer for Schools | Wednesday 9th September 2026
As the new academic year begins several Christian organisations, including the Message Trust, Scripture Union, Bible Society and Urban Saints, are collaborating to intentionally pray for schools across the UK for the National Day of Prayer for Schools on Wednesday 9th September. Resources are available to support local prayer opportunities in parishes or as individuals, including national prayer times which will be hosted online and can be joined at various points during the day.

Opportunities to pray are many and varied, from personal prayer to a dedicated meeting; a prayer walk around the community; spoken prayers in services or daily offices, or written prayers for schools sent out via a newsletter or social media. School chaplains, parishes and those in school’s ministry provide dedicated support and have the opportunity to offer prayers for pupils, staff and all involved in school life.
