Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy our gardens, but it is also the season when grass, hedges and plants can grow quickly. A little regular maintenance can help keep gardens looking their best and prevent small issues from becoming larger problems.
Keeping on top of grass and weeds
Regular mowing helps keep lawns healthy and tidy, particularly during periods of warm weather and rainfall. We also encourage occupants to keep paths, patios and driveways clear of weeds where possible, to reduce trip hazards and maintain the appearance of the property.
Hedges, shrubs and boundaries
Hedges and shrubs can quickly become overgrown during the summer months.
Please help by ensuring that:
- Paths and walkways remain clear.
- Hedges do not obstruct public footpaths.
- Branches do not block access to doors, gates or parking areas.
- Vegetation does not interfere with neighbouring properties.
Maintaining boundaries not only improves the appearance of the property but can also help maintain positive relationships with neighbours.
Trees
Trees are an important part of many clergy gardens and contribute significantly to the local environment.
If you notice any of the following, please report them to the Property Team:
- Dead or fallen branches.
- Significant leaning or movement.
- Cracks in the trunk.
- Branches touching buildings or overhead cables.
- Any concerns about the safety or condition of a tree.
Please do not arrange tree work independently without prior approval from the Property Team.
Garden waste
Where local authority garden waste collections are available, we encourage occupants to make use of these services. If large quantities of green waste arise, or specialist work is required, please contact the Property Team for advice.
If you have any concerns about the condition of your garden, trees, boundaries or external areas, please contact the Property Team. Early reporting often allows issues to be addressed before they become more significant.
