Later in the month, the Bishop joined the Mayor of London at the Love and Wanted campaign event, a significant initiative aimed at addressing homelessness and supporting vulnerable members of the community. The campaign has gained momentum, and the Bishop’s involvement further highlighted his ongoing commitment to social justice and compassion for those in need. Bishop Anderson says:

London is a global city with an incredible diversity of culture and language drawn from across the world. This initiative from the Mayor helps support that we make our city a safe place to be welcomed and belong for all people. As faith communities we have an important role to play in fostering friendship across our communities

Internationally, the Bishop travelled to Nepal to attend the Council for World Mission Forum. This gathering of South Asian Church leaders allowed opportunity to discuss issues of mission and social responsibility, strengthening relationships with partner churches and exploring opportunities for collaboration on critical issues, including poverty alleviation and education.

“It was an incredible opportunity to hear the stories from Christians in South Asia and understand the challenges the church faces. I was delighted to participate in sharing and contributing to discussions around rethinking mission of the church for our times”

Coffee and pastries provided a moment for fellowship and connection, allowing these ministers to share experiences and build stronger relationships within the wider church community.

Finally, the month concluded with the Bishop officiating at the Memorial Gate Service, a poignant occasion to remember and honour those who have served their communities and the nation. This solemn event provided an opportunity for reflection and prayer, with the Bishop offering words of comfort and gratitude.
