This month, Bishop Anderson has been actively engaging with both clergy and lay people, fostering connections and supporting local schools.
Bishop Anderson hosted a curate’s lunch at the Edmonton Area office, offering a valuable opportunity for those in their training curacies to gather. This informal lunch provided an ideal space for curates to share experiences, ask questions, and seek guidance from one another. It was a chance to reflect on their ongoing ministry and receive encouragement as they continue to serve the Church.
The following day Bishop Anderson hosted another welcoming event, this time for the new incumbents. Over coffee and cake, it was wonderful to listen to their stories and experiences in the first few months of their ministry, offer support, and hear about their hopes and challenges. These meetings proved to be invaluable for fostering a sense of community and providing a space for honest discussion about the realities of Parish life.
In addition to these meetings, Bishop Anderson spent time visiting some of our schools in the Edmonton Episcopal Area. His visit was a testament to the excellent work being done in the C of E schools, where faith, education, and pastoral care go hand in hand. Bishop Anderson took the opportunity to meet with staff and pupils, seeing first-hand the impact of their work and encouraging them to continue leading with faith.
Baptism and confirmation services are an integral part of Bishop Anderson’s pastoral duties. These occasions, where individuals publicly affirm their faith, are always significant moments in the life of the Church. These services were a reminder of the importance of these sacramental milestones and the role of the Church in nurturing spiritual growth.

Bishop Anderson also had the privilege of delivering the Cambridge University Sermon at Great St. Mary’s, the University Church – a tradition that dates back to at least the year 1300.

Bishop Anderson says:
Participating in these engagements have not only highlighted the need to strengthen our pastoral care but to ensure that both our clergy and the wider community in our parishes are supported. I believe that it is through these pastoral engagements that the bonds of faith and service are strengthened, helping to build a resilient and supportive church for all
