Following on from their annual performance at RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year, the Heroes Band will continue their 10th Anniversary celebrations with a concert on Saturday 22nd June at St Paul (the Actors’) Church in Covent Garden, WC2E 9ED.

The band was formed specifically to raise funds and increase awareness of the Help For Heroes charity and continues to do so today.

The concert, which starts at 7pm, will premiere a new piece of music dedicated especially to The Heroes Band and the Help For Heroes charity. The high standard band will also perform music most loved by its audiences during its first ten years. Free refreshments will be served during the 20-minute interval, and the concert is expected to finish at 9pm.

The precincts of the church will also be filled with music from 12:30pm until 3:00pm when several ensembles from the band will be performing. There will be no charge for the afternoon entertainment, but there will be an opportunity to donate by either cash or card

The Heroes Band’s Musical Director is David Vaninetti-Smart, whose idea it was to form the band. Himself a former principal oboist in the Life Guards (Household Cavalry) of the British Army, David has a wealth of experience and expertise rarely seen in a voluntary concert band setting. The band is often favourably compared with its professional military counterparts, performing at RHS Chelsea for many years, in the London Parks, as well as with Sadlers Wells, at the Eastbourne Bandstand, in Northern Italy, Southern France and Gibraltar.
