Here are some ideas for bringing the Capital Vision themes and priorities to life in your own context.

Equipping and commissioning 100,000 ambassadors for everyday life

Book to join a one day workshop for clergy and key lay members of your church – starting our journey to equipping and commissioning 100,000 ambassadors for everyday life Book to join the workshop on 15 or 31 March.

Messy Church and Messy Cathedral

We’re trying to start 10 new messy churches across the Diocese in 2014 in partnership with Messy Church. Two are already in planning – could you plan to be next? Is your church coming to Messy Church at St Paul’s Cathedral‘s patronal festival on 25 January?

Links between schools and the Christian community

Want to think about strengthening links between schools and their local Christian community? Watch out for clergy study days on building practical relationships. A day for primary schools is planned for 17 June, and one for secondary schools later in the year.

Speaking about Capital Vision in your church

Planning to speak about Capital Vision in your church? There are many possible ways of doing this. All Saints Margaret Street, The Annunciation and St Cyprian congregations held a shared day on the three Capital Vision themes. Others have preached sermons on the themes of Confident, Compassionate and Creative. St Saviour’s Sunbury and Emmanuel Northwood are just two of the parishes who have examples of sermons on each of the themes available to download from their website.

Revising your mission action plan

There are many examples of Capital Vision based mission action planning including St John the Evangelist Brownswood Park and St Mary’s Willesden are just a couple. If you’ve embedded Capital Vision in your mission action plan, do send details to capitalvision2020@london.anglican.org.

Use the Capital Vision resources

New worshipping communities

Thinking about a new worshipping community for 2014 or beyond? Check out the library of videos from the first three worshipping communities – and be inspired – 100 worshipping communities on YouTube. Or watch how Islington Deanery approached planning.

Tell your story

We’re always on the look out for great stories which show the themes of Capital Vision 2020 in action – whether the Cantignorus Chorus in Stepney, a day on “Excelling in children’s ministry” in Kensington, or the stories of individuals being ambassadors for Christ in ordinary life. Got a story to share? Email capitalvision2020@london.anglican.org. To follow the latest stories others are sharing follow @dioceseoflondon or visit www.london.anglican.org.
