The Right Revd Rod Green was consecrated Bishop of Stepney at St Paul’s Cathedral on 1 May 2026, having previously served as Archdeacon of Llandaff in the Church in Wales from 2021 to early 2026.

Rod has strong personal and ministerial connections to the Stepney Area. His father grew up in Stepney, his children were born in East London, and he first discerned his vocation to ordained ministry while serving in local churches.

Ordained priest in the Diocese of London in 2008, Rod served his curacy at Christ Church Spitalfields before becoming Associate Rector at St Paul’s Shadwell in 2011. In 2014 he was appointed Vicar of St Peter’s West Harrow in the Willesden Area.

As Bishop of Stepney, Rod oversees the Stepney Episcopal Area, covering the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Islington and Hackney. He also chairs the London Diocesan Board for Schools and holds responsibility for the Diocese’s creative growth portfolio.
