Title of page - Peace with creation - Season of creation 2025

The ecumenical ‘Season of Creation’ runs from the 1st of September to the 4th of October. Covering the traditional harvest season in Europe and ending on the feast day of St Francis of Assisi this celebration of God’s relationship with His creation is the perfect time to begin looking at how to pray, preach and act for creation.  Rooted in a biblical call, it offers churches and individuals across denominations a shared opportunity to renew their relationship with the natural world. As environmental crises deepen, this season invites a faithful response—grounded in worship, repentance, and hope—to live more gently and justly on the Earth.

The theme in 2025 is “Peace with Creation”, inviting us to reimagine and restore right relationships – not only with the Earth itself, but also between humanity and the Creator (Isaiah 32:14-18). The symbol of the year, a dove carrying an olive branch bringing life to a Garden of Peace, draws fresh inspiration from the Genesis flood narrative—where the return of the dove signalled a new beginning and hope amid devastation.

If you would like to engage with this season in parts of your Sunday service A Rocha UK have curated English language prayers, poems, songs, creative worship ideas and resources for children’s ministry here. A wide range of ecumenical resources are available on the official season of creation website: Resources – Season of Creation.

If all this is a little overwhelming then have no fear, A Rocha are launching the season of creation with a webinar to talk through some of the ways people will be celebrating! Webinar: What does peace with creation look like?
