We spoke to Reanne Thomas, about what she enjoys about her role at the LDF and what inspires her in her spare time.
So, Reanne, what is your role here at the LDF?
I’m Senior Property Services Manager.
Working within the Housing directorate my role oversees the maintenance work streams (ingoing works, reactive repairs and quinquennial works) which is a constant juggling act of technical assessment, advice and project management. My team are really passionate about what they do and are kind of a ‘lifecycle’ business function as we’re there at the beginning preparing housing for new clergy appointments, maintaining their housing throughout their post and then we’re back again to prepare housing for new incumbent when the time is ready.
How long have you been in the role?
I joined the LDF in late September 2024.
What do you like best about your job?
‘The give back’ feeling and knowing I am part of creating safe homes for clergy to enjoy, which in turn maximises their ability to give back in their own posts. My previous roles were mainly within the social housing/local authority sector where demands were similar and I really enjoy the challenge. As a building surveyor I also have a real passion for buildings and architecture. Our historical buildings are really exciting to work on and we have some really special property within the London Diocese.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Most of my time (and money!) outside of work is spent travelling with my husband. Seeing the world, exploring and appreciating different cultures/people is something that’s really important to us. I’m an ex sports professional and, although I no longer play, I closely follow the Arsenal with my dad and brother which is a really cool bond. I love a girls weekend with good food and a few bubbles for a balanced lifestyle also!
