Parish administrators from across the diocese gathered for a special morning of connection, encouragement, and learning.
The event was opened by Bishop Emma, who offered an inspiring reflection on the word “administrate.” She explored how administration is not merely about managing tasks but about enabling the life and mission of the Church to flourish. Bishop Emma expressed heartfelt thanks to all administrators for their faithful service and ministry, recognising the vital role they play in the daily life of parishes.
The teaching for the morning was given by the Revd Canon Miles Baker, Diocesan Director of Ministry, who spoke on the topic of “Getting Things Done.” He introduced the CODAR framework — Capture, Organise, Distil, Act, Review — offering practical tools for managing workload and maintaining focus. His session provided a helpful structure for turning ideas into action and for sustaining effective, well-ordered ministry in parish life.
The gathering was a reminder that administration, rooted in care and purpose, is itself a form of ministry — one that sustains and strengthens the Church’s mission.
