About The Role

Come and join our warm, inclusive, and creative church and be part of an exciting project to develop our ministry with people on low incomes and on estates in our neighbourhood. You will be pioneering work with the aim of developing a new worshipping community, working with the wider church team.

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for an apprentice to work as part of a team to:
● Share your faith and welcome new people into worshipping communities
● Build on and develop our work with people on low incomes
● Gain practical ministry experience
● Train with a cohort of apprentices in other churches
● Develop your skills, experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside an experienced estates practitioner for 15 hours a week, gaining practical insights and strategies for mission
• Participate in regular reflection on your experiences
• Develop and implement a strategy to welcome new people into a worshipping community
• Create opportunities for people to engage with faith in a culturally relevant and accessible way.
• Develop skills in strategic planning
• Integrate prayer into all aspects of your ministry, learning to seek guidance and strength in your leadership and decision-making.
• Spend 5 hours per week engaging in cohort training and formation sessions, both online and in-person, designed to foster collaborative learning and personal growth.

Essential:
● A living Christian faith and a desire to help people grow in their knowledge and experience of God.
● Excellent team player who can build positive relationships
● Resilience: Ability to persevere through challenges and setbacks, and maintain a positive attitude
● A willingness to be mentored and a commitment to lifelong learning,
● A deep respect for and desire to engage with local communities, especially those on estates and in low-income areas.
● Leadership Potential: The ability to grow into a leadership role, developing skills to mentor others and lead a worshipping community.

Desirable:
● Experience in Estates Ministry: Prior experience working in estates and/or low-income communities is an advantage, but not essential.
● Practical Ministry Skills: Experience of providing pastoral care, developing discipleship, and community engagement.
