Blessed are the Weary: Rest and Reflection on Disability, Value and God
13th annual conference on disability & church
10am – 4.30pm. Online with BSL & captions.
A self-paced programme of pre-recorded content to explore and embody rest, and to reflect on ideas of value. With meditations, stories, creativity, theology and liturgy
Since 2012 we’ve been holding space for disabled people to gather, to resource each other and the church. It’s a partnership between St Martin in the Fields and Inclusive Church.
We”re often judged by what we can do but what does this say about worth? Can rest be an act of resistance? In place of our usual conference gathering we’re practising what we’re preaching with a retreat day of meditation, stories, creativity, theology and liturgy, using pre-recorded materials via a private website and Facebook group.
