Safeguarding Hubs

The Safeguarding Hubs are a suite of tools to help a parish with safeguarding. Parishes in the Diocese of London are among the first in the country to be offered a Safeguarding Hub. Although are not a requirement, they are a very helpful set of tools.

The first three tools:

  • Keep track of DBS checks and safeguarding training
  • Create role descriptions and person specifications
  • Track the safer recruitment of new volunteers

If you are a parish safeguarding dashboards owner at level 2 or 3, your Safeguarding Hub is available to you.
There are two ways to become a Hub Owner:

  • You should find an invitation displayed on the homepage of your Safeguarding Dashboard https://www.parishdashboards.org.uk
  • If another owner from your parish has already accepted an invitation, you will need to ask them to send you an invitation to be a Hub Owner too

Coming soon – integration with 31:8 DBS checks

After extensive testing in a development environment, ClearlySimpler are starting a pilot to connect a small number of hubs to the 31:8 DBS system. This will ensure everything works as expected before rolling it out more widely.
More information on this to follow, but you might like to slowly move across to the Safeguarding Hubs if not already using them so you are in a position to benefit from the integration when it goes live, date to be confirmed.
