Carol service sheets

Christmas is the time of year for all organisations to host and run Carol Services across London for the many charities and organisations out there that serve the Capital. This is also true for professional sports clubs and fitness groups. This year, the Sports Chaplaincy UK (SCUK) are bringing communities together to celebrate Jesus’ birth using new resources from the SCUK partners, the Bible Society, Hope and Integrity Music. You can use the free carols booklet they have produced if sports groups are singing carols door-to-door, as a flash-mob in a shopping centre or in your stadia carol service.

Carol service materials

  • Carol booklets can be ordered in packs of ten (provided by Bible Society free of charge) with a small postage and packing charge. Single sample booklets and a suggested order of service, along with other resources, are available from the Bible Society: click here.
  • Journey to Bethlehem Publicity materials are available separately from CPO to match this carol booklet, many of which can be customised. Find out more click here.
  • If you want to sing outside or by candlelight, then why not get the words for free on your smartphone? Just visit weareworship.com and search for the carol words app, and iSingWorship will be providing backing tracks.

Journey to Bethlehem is the perfect opportunity to reach out to your community with a carol singing event. Use our publicity resources and hold your events in sports stadiums to bring communities together to celebrate Jesus’ birth.

On social media use the hashtags #christmasjourney and for national Church of England services use #GodWithUs. If you need ideas off the sports pitch on how to organise a carol service, please see the Sports Chaplaincy UK website.
