#FollowTheStar: Advent and Christmas resources

After the success of the #FollowTheStar Campaign in previous years, the Church of England is returning to this popular theme for 2022.

Now is the time to order your booklets, build your giant star, and make sure that your Christmas events are on the Church of England’s A Church Near You website.

⭐ Update your A Church Near You pages with your Advent and Christmas services and events

A Church Near You receives millions of page views each year, with most users of the site being first time visitors. There is a huge opportunity to use the site to encourage local church attendance.

List your Advent and Christmas services on AChurchNearYou.com, using an Advent or Christmas tag. From the start of Advent, they will then appear on a special Christmas landing page, that we will be driving the public to via advertising and publications.

⭐ Order the new #FollowTheStar: The Great Invitation booklet or download the app when it launches

Follow The Star: The Great Invitation will consist of 12 reflections from a range of authors who will share personal stories exploring themes of invitation.

⭐ Use the social media graphics and customisable video tool to help your church promote its services and events

There will be a social media graphic generator, video generator, and Christmas music audio files, all  available on the AChurchNearYou resources hub.

⭐ Display a star on your church building

The bigger and more visible the better! Don’t forget to share a photo of it on social media using #FollowTheStar.

⭐Make use of ‘Christmas in a box’

The Church of England has produced a small number of model services that you can take and make your own. There will be a traditional carol service, a less traditional all age service, and a scratch Nativity service. Each service will include songs, readings, orders of service and invitations that you can customise and print.
