The London Diocesan Fund, in partnership with Islington Museum, has undertaken a dynamic volunteer-led research project based around the building of Holy Trinity Church (renamed the Cloudesley Centre), Cloudesley Square, Islington and the stories of the people who now lie in the Crypt. This project has been generously supported with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Culture Seeds.
In order to share the leaning from the project, and support churches who are thinking of applying to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the London Diocesan Fund is hosting three FREE legacy workshops across London.
The three workshops will be based around three different themes: researching records and heritage significance; developing artist and creative projects; and interpreting heritage. All workshops will also cover key topics of community engagement, project visioning, and funding opportunities.
This first workshop will focus on understanding your building, its significance, and how to utilise archives in the research process.
Presentation themes will include:
*Understanding your Building and Statements of Significance
*Engaging your Community
*How To: Research Archives
*Reflections of a volunteer
*The National Lottery Heritage Fund
*Creating your Project
*Heritage Project Funding Opportunities: the National Churches Trust
There will also opportunities throughout for you to ask questions and discussion.
