The Wood Wharf development is an extension to the existing financial district of Canary Wharf. Planned as a more diverse location with smaller-scale office space, it intends to appeal to the technology and new media industries. The plans also aim to provide more residential development, with 3,600 residential units.

Creating community space

Due to its physical infrastructure, the development is isolated from nearby parish churches. To serve the office, retail and residential communities, the local clergy have identified the need to secure a location in the new development from which a range of church work can be run. This may be a ground-floor community space in one of the new blocks.
