Kate Bottley says we all need something to believe in, and that faith is about hope, being human, having doubts, getting through life’s hard bits, celebrating the great bits, and finding meaning and connection in it all.
She will talk about the surprising truth of what faith means to her, that it’s not all-or-nothing, and also some of the things she’s learnt about life’s big questions about love, death, forgiveness, loneliness and joy, and why she thinks, ultimately, faith is the key to happiness.
The evening will be chaired by Canon Paula Gooder and include plenty of time for questions and answers.
The Revd Kate Bottley is a vicar, journalist and radio presenter. She presents Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2 and is a regular presenter on BBC1’s Songs of Praise. Her first book is ‘Have a Little Faith: Life Lessons on Love, Death and How Lasagne Always Helps’ (Penguin 2023).
Dr Paula Gooder is Canon Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral, a renowned Biblical scholar and the author of numerous popular and academic books about the Bible and theology.
