Join us to learn about running prayer spaces in churches and schools!
Prayer spaces enable children and young people, of all faiths and none, to explore faith, prayer and big questions in a safe, creative and interactive way. They enable churches and schools to work together in creating a fantastic experience that engages with SMSC for both primary and secondary school pupils.
Whether you’re just starting out or have run them before, this training will be perfect for anyone looking to learn more about creating meaningful prayer experiences. Discover new ideas, share experiences, and connect with like-minded individuals. This is a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of prayer spaces and their impact.
There are two different sessions available to book:
- Weds 24th: For youth workers and clergy
- Thurs 25th: For school staff / Heads of RE / Headteachers
You are welcome to attend either session – they will be slightly tailored for the target roles.

- How to plan a prayer space on a budget
- How to run a prayer space, with stories from those who have run prayer spaces
- Good practices to put into place
- Experiencing a prayer space for yourself
Who is the training for?
- School staff who want to learn about prayer spaces
- Chaplains who are involved in the worshipping rhythms of a school
- Youth workers, church leaders or volunteers who want to run prayer spaces in their church or local schools
Experience a live prayer space
From Tuesday-Thursday the week of these training sessions, there will be a prayer space set up and in full swing at Causton Street. As part of the training there will be ample time to participate in the prayer room, but you can also book a separate slot if you wish to join another time.
