Safeguarding reminder – what parishes need to display

It has been the House of Bishops policy position that parishes need to display information about their safeguarding arrangements*.

Each parish should display:

  • A formal statement of commitment to safeguarding. This should be signed on behalf of the PCC. You can download a template safeguarding policy by clicking here.
  • Contact details of the Parish Safeguarding Officer, churchwarden and any other local leaders. Please see this template from the National Church’s website.
  • Information about where to get help with child and adult safeguarding issues e.g. local authority contact details, domestic abuse and key helplines (such as ChildLine).

For further support with Safeguarding please visit the safeguarding pages where the team contact details are displayed.

*Roles and Responsibilities 2017, Section 3, issued in October 2017.
