Open Door Centre in Barnet opens its doors

The Rt Revd Adrian Newman, Bishop of Stepney, has formally opened the Open Door Centre at Christ Church, Barnet, housing a drop-in facility, café and meeting rooms for hire.

Open churches: The Friends of City Churches

The Friends of City Churches (FCC) is an independent charity reborn in 1994 from a then-moribund organisation in response to the Templeman Report of that same year. The report recommended mothballing 27 of the 39 Anglican churches in the City of London, something which would in all likelihood have led to closure and redundancy of some immensely significant buildings.

Open church: All Saints, Margaret Street

All Saints, Margaret Street is one of the most important Victorian buildings in the country and arguably one of the most important 19th century churches in Europe, Grade I-listed All Saints was built between 1849 and 1859 and designed by William Butterfield.
