Bishop Sarah visited New York City for the Investiture and Installation of the 17th Bishop of New York, the Rt Revd Matthew Foster Heyd.

On March 9, the eve of the installation, Bishop Sarah attended a reception hosted by the Church of the Holy Trinity, Manhattan, celebrating the Diocese of London/Diocese of New York Link Program.

The Bishop Suffragan of New York, the Rt Revd Allen K. Shin, greeted Bishop Sarah and offered his encouragement for the ongoing relationships among parishes and new efforts to expand the program. The Revd Dylan Turner, Anglican Communion Relations Officer, represented the Archbishop of Canterbury at the gathering. The hosting rector, the Revd John Beddingfield, observed how important the link program had been to him and the parish of Holy Trinity especially during the pandemic, as Holy Trinity and St. Stephen Rochester Row came together through technology for the Daily Office, a Lenten art program, and a special “Blue Christmas” Transatlantic worship service during Advent. The gathering of some 30 laypersons and clergy represented parishes with existing links to the Diocese of London as well as several parishes that are exploring possible links.
