Becoming a new treasurer can be a daunting task but it is a great way to give your valuable skills towards making a real difference in your church. No church can run its ministry well without proper financial management, and as treasurer you will be able to guide your PCC towards efficiently and faithfully using your resources to preach the Good News of Christ.

To help you settle into your new role the Diocese provides various support functions. These are:

  1. A New Treasurer Checklist to highlight the information you should become familiar with as you begin. A copy of this is appended at the bottom of the page.
  2. Hints and tips on this website which provide an overview of key areas of governance. You can find links to all the areas on the Finance homepage. In particular you may want to look at the sections on Annual Accounts and Reports and Financial Procedures.
  3. The Area Finance Advisers who are available to speak or meet with you to answer any questions you have and help you settle into your new role. You can find the contact details for theĀ Area Finance Advisers here.
