Benefits in addition to the salary will be taxable and will need to be reported to HMRC and have tax and NI deducted. There is information on their website here .

Failure to deduct appropriate tax will result in HMRC seeking payment of the tax directly from the individual.

Benefits in kind typically include things like health insurance, car repairs or insurance, and travel expenses in excess of HMRC amounts. There is some helpful advice on the Citizens Advice page here.
