The developers, Lee Valley Estate have provided us with the shell and core of the building and a 500 year lease. We need to cover the costs of the building fit out to provide this community with the facilities it so desperately needs.

From a donation of £10 per month over the next 12 months to a donation of £100,000 it is through everyone contributing what they can, that will make this project a reality. We are more than half way to meeting our £2.4m fundraising target.

If you can make a donation today, please click on one of the links below. If you are a business or an individual who wants to discuss opportunities for partnering with us please contact Sarah Webster, Major Donor Relationship Manager on 020 7932 1266 or

Alternatively if you can help the Engine Room with your skills please click here to find out about volunteering opportunities.

We are very grateful to the individuals and organisations, particularly the Mercers Company and St Botolph’s without Bishopsgate Church who have donated so generously to this campaign so far.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that enables the Diocese of London to claim tax relief on donations from UK taxpayers. We would encourage all eligible donors to take up this scheme to maximise their donation. For every £1 a UK taxpayer donates, 25p in reclaimed tax is added. This means that a £100 gift with Gift Aid is worth £125. All you need to do is to make a declaration when promoted on the donation page.

If you are a higher rate taxpayer looking to reclaim tax from your donation, all you have to do is remember to include details of your charitable gifts on your tax form. Also, from April 2003, higher rate taxpayers were able to reclaim tax relief from donations paid to charity both during the previous tax year and during the current tax year, that means the relief is paid that much quicker.

Donations from companies are not eligible for Gift Aid. However, the company can treat the gift as an allowable expense, making a saving on corporation tax.

Please note that we will share relevant and necessary data with HM Revenue and Customs to enable us to reclaim the Gift Aid on your donation.
