Warden and Director of the UK’s finest residential and only Prime Ministerial library.
For the first time in twenty-five years, the Trustees of Gladstone’s Library are inviting applications from clergy in Anglican Orders for the unique and desirable post of Warden and Director of the UK’s finest residential, and only Prime Ministerial library.
The trustees are seeking an exceptional visionary to continue and develop Gladstone’s legacy of engagement with political, social, moral and spiritual questions – as Gladstone himself might have expressed it, “to serve civilisation”.
The Library‘s mission embraces the core subjects of Theology, History and Current Affairs, Classical and contemporary Literary Culture.
In addition, the Warden, supported by a team of paid staff and volunteers, leads a commercial operation that is sympathetic to the ethos of the Library and will ensure its future.
