Volunteer Money Mentors & Workshop Facilitators in Brent
Let’s Talk Money is a project of Community Church Harlesden that helps people in Brent equip themselves with the knowledge and skills to manage their money better.
Managing money well can be hard – especially when money is really tight. What can make it even harder is not really understanding all sorts of money topics: credit, benefits, discounts. It’s common to hear ‘nobody told me’ about money issues. Struggling with money matters can feel like a pretty lonely situation to be in.
Let’s Talk Money wants to change that. We want to get people talking – and telling others – about managing our money better. With the right knowledge and skills, and someone alongside you, there’s a lot that people can do to change their situation for the better. Committed to Brent, we want to be good neighbours to those in our local community.
If you’re good at listening to people, non-judgemental, and want to help people as they take more control of their life, then volunteering with Let’s Talk Money could be for you. You don’t have to be a money expert, just happy to have some training.
As a volunteer, you could facilitate interactive training workshops at community centres across Brent to help people learn about money management skills that they can also share with friends and family. Or, you could work as a ‘money mentor’ , spending time with someone one-to-one over a number of weeks to work through practical steps to help them manage their money better.
You could commit to as little as just over an hour a week, worked flexibly to fit in with your life.
