Salary:- £20,000 – £26,000 pa + 8.5% non-contributory pension
Hours: 40 hours/week


To work as part of the Urban Hope team delivering the projects work with young people in the local community. This role has a particular focus on building universal open access youth work and building upon the links in local schools.

Responsibilities to include

To develop the delivery of innovative, high-quality youth work, which is orientated around the needs and interests of local young people within a local community setting and schools.
To lead 3 evening Drop In’s a week – Monday / Wednesday / Thursday
To offer a personal support service tailored to individual young people on a one-to-one and small group basis offering mentoring, advice, advocacy and crisis support.

We seek a person who:
Has achieved a recognised qualification in youth work and demonstrated a commitment to supporting young people to explore and achieve to their full potential.
Has experience of working in a community youth project and of undertaking outreach youth work.
Has experience of leading youth work and specific projects and of directing a team to achieve specific aims and objectives.
Has a demonstrable ability to relate to young people, building supportive and lasting relationships and becoming a trusted person in their lives.
Candidates must have an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to process a new application.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Monday 8th November 2019. Applications cannot be accepted after this time. If you are shortlisted and invited for interview you will need to attend on either Wednesday 27th or Thursday 28th November during the evening to meet the with members of the Urban Hope and some young people during a regular session, and then on Friday 29th November for a formal Interview.
